WITH the debate over Scotland becoming independent from the UK still raging, it's evident the infrastructure here would change for the better.
MUCH has been made of the Institute of Fiscal Studies report into the economy of an independent Scotland.
It’s to be welcomed. The report recognises that Scotland contributes more to the UK than its 8.4 per cent population share.
It acknowledges we send more to London than we get back – 9.6 per cent of taxes but only
9.3 per cent of spending.
