2013-03-27_Motion_to_parliament.jpgThat the Parliament welcomes the efforts of the emergency services, social work staff, farmers and volunteers in Dumfries and Galloway who have assisted in the efforts to keep residents and passing motorists safe and warm following the heavy snowfall;

understands that the recently set up Galloway Snow Aid Helping Page is using social media to coordinate deliveries of food, water, gas and other supplies to people who are unable to leave home due to the weather, and appreciates the efforts of Scottish Power on, it understands, having staff working around the clock to restore supply.
