International Success for Shelby Watson

That the Parliament congratulates the 17-year-old wheelchair racer from Johnstonebridge, Shelby Watson, on her achievements at the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association World Games, at which she won gold in the 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1,500 metres;

notes that in doing so, Shelby set world records in the 400 and 1,500 metres events, the latter having being held for 14 years, and broke the European 100 metres record; recognises that her success in the competition has allowed her to become internationally classified in the T33 category; believes that Shelby is a fantastic ambassador for disability sports, and wishes her good luck for her future as an international competitor.
