Education should be something we can all benefit from

I LOVED every minute of my four years at Glasgow University in the early 1980s, even if I’d rather forget my New Romantic fashion phase.

Thanks to free tuition in Scotland, more young people than ever get the same chance as I had.

A new law going through the Scottish Parliament, the Post 16 Education Reform Bill, will ensure universities take on teenagers from the poorest backgrounds, too many of whom are still denied the chance of a degree.
