Congratulations to Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre

That the Parliament congratulates Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre on rehoming its 3,000th dog; notes that the centre was opened in March 2003 and rehomes around 300 dogs per year;

understands that its services cover the whole of Dumfries and Galloway but, where possible, it will take in dogs from other parts of the UK to save them from destruction; recognises that it has rehomed dogs from Dorset to Orkney, and commends it on what it considers this vital work during this difficult economic time, which, it understands, is sadly resulting in more dogs requiring rehoming services.
