Congratulations Grace Cardozo

That the Parliament congratulates Grace Cardozo, Service Manager of Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Centre, which is part of national youth charity, LGBT Youth Scotland, on her nomination for a National Diversity Award in the category of Positive LGBT Role Model;

considers that Grace has worked tirelessly to champion LGBT equality over the past 16 years; understands that she has helped hundreds of LGBT people live confident and open lives as well as helping organisations and community members better understand the needs of LGBT people; further understands that she has been responsible for setting up some key services and initiatives that have been heralded across the country, including the National LGBT Youth Council and the acclaimed LGBT Charter Mark Scheme; congratulates Grace and her team on developing a successful model to achieve LGBT equality in the region to the extent that it was showcased at an event hosted by the Government of the Netherlands in The Hague recently as an example of best practice, and wishes her good luck at the National Diversity Awards, which will be held in the Queens Hotel, Leeds on 20 September 2013.
