Local Police Officers Take on Run Doonhame Challenge

That the Parliament congratulates Dumfries and Galloway police officers, Stuart Davidson, Andy Stevenson, Adam Watret, Iain Wishart and Iain McKie, who plan to take on the Run Doonhame challenge;

understands that, from 26 to 29 March 2013, the officers will run 500 miles from Inverness to Dumfries, via Aberdeen, Dundee, Glenrothes, Edinburgh, the Scottish Police College, Stirling and Glasgow, in order to raise money for the Care of Police Survivors (COPS), the Police Treatment Centre, Cash for Kids and Children in Need and to mark the establishment of the new single police force for Scotland, which is due to come into effect on 1 April, and hopes that the public will get behind the officers in what it sees as this fantastic challenge.
