First Minister Visit To Cochran Engineering

In October, I joined the First Minister on a tour of Cochran Engineering’s manufacturing facility in Annan where we spent a couple of hours touring the plant and chatting with staff. It was fantastic to learn that over 40% of Cochran’s orders are exported, resulting in new jobs in the Scottish manufacturing sector. As well as recruiting experienced craftsmen Cochran are currently training seventeen apprentices; who the First minister was keen to meet with.

During the visit, the First Minister re-iterated the Scottish Government's ongoing commitment to assisting manufacturing companies, like Cochran, by providing support through Scottish Enterprise in areas such as apprentice training and through Scottish Development International in the development of export markets.
